I have a photo shoot coming up and finally got around to buying a piece of camera equipment that I should have gotten 3-years ago. I had in mind to buy the 550EX Speedlight from Canon, but considering that I want to buy a new SLR in the very near future and at almost €600, I got the 420EX for half the price.

Normally I can make use of ambient lighting and get the shots I want, but something tells me that if I had not gotten the flash, I would have regretted not having it as backup and worried myself an ulcer.
